Whats's in a rig part2. The good rig
Some anglers say location is the most important aspect in Carp fishing. Others say (including the tackle industry) rigs are important.
A "basic" but well constructed rig is placed in a good location.
The hair is the right length, The balance is correct, it's a modern hooklink (triggerlink), its well tied and tested in a sink prior to casting.
The result is clear. Its in the water for less than 20 minns and it works.
Conclusion, location is vital but without functioning equipment its useless.
See for yourself.
